Are some female nouns in Bokmål more readily ''masculinized'' than the others?

Yes, some originally feminine nouns are more likely to be used as such than the others, in moderate Bokmål. In ''radical'' Bokmål all nouns that can be ''feminized'' are normally used as female nouns, to reflect its feminine gender nature shared with Nynorsk. In conservative Bokmål/Riksmål only a handful or nouns (like jente, or hytte) can be ''feminized''. All others are obligatory masculine. Let's take a look at the way some common nouns are used on the web versions of two Norwegian national daily newspapers, Dagbladet and Dagsavisen. Both newspapers are known for its style, falling something between the ''radical'', and the moderate Bokmål (depending on the journalist who writes a particular article). Google advanced search has been used for the data. Relative frequencies have been calculated in MS Access. The nouns used for testing are the nouns used in Teach yourself Norwegian (2004), which can be feminine, according to Bokmålsordboka (the official/normative Bokmål dictionary, covering all subvariants of Bokmål: ''radical'', moderate, and conservative). For example, there were 4710 occurrences of jenta at the site:dagsavisen.no, and 18 occurrences of jenten. The relative frequency of jenta being used as the definite form of jente, is, therefore, 99.6%. Relative frequencies of definite feminine forms are shown in percentages, before the noun; a lone hyphen (-) indicates that there were no occurrences at all, either in -a, or in -en. T indicates the noun has been difficult to access, because the -en form is a very frequent toponym (Skien).

The frequency of TYN (2004) female nouns used as female nouns in the definite form (-a), on dagsavisen.no:
